Job Summary:
The Department Chair MSMS program and provides leadership and direction in the planning, development, and delivery of the academic programs and in the maintenance of program excellence to initiate and direct the day-to-day policies and procedures of the MSMS program, which aids the faculty and staff in performing their duties and the students in reaching their potential.

Responsible for overall program, including but not limited to administration, curriculum, faculty, staff, students, budget, facilities, etc. 2. Strong academic leadership including the ability to motivate faculty and staff to achieve program goals and objectives. 3. Knowledge of current, emerging, and future trends in health care, medicine, and skills and tasks that may be performed by Health Professions Educators and Community Health Educators. 4. Excellent management and supervisory skills. 5. Understanding of budget management, planning, and assessment processes 6. Knowledge in the use of relational databases, spreadsheets, and/or word processing; experience with packages to assemble, manipulates and/or format data and/or reports. 7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated skills in diplomacy, team building, and connecting people to a common vision. Ability to present complex information easily and accurately. 8. Ability to interact with the departments; ability to exercise administrative judgment and assume responsibility for decisions, consequences, and results having an impact on people, costs, and/or quality of service within the functional area. 9. Knowledge of the laws and regulations relating to the practice of Health Professions Education and Community Health Education 10. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. 11. Ability to perform detail-oriented projects. 12. Ability to effectively interact with administration, faculty, staff, students, and health professionals. 13. Organization skills necessary for prioritizing workload. Required Qualifications:
1. EDUCATION: Master’s degree required. Earned academic doctorate degree (or in progress) preferred. 2. EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years clinical/teaching experience in a health-related field. 3. PREFERENCES: Preference will be given to individuals with professional, academic, and administrative/management experience. PhD or EdD preferred. 4. Rank: Eligible to hold rank of associate professor, professor, clinical associate professor, or clinical professor. List comments regarding work hours:
Monday – Friday, 8 am- 5 pm
